1. Read an article about the Perfume Pagoda. Look at the words in the box, then find them in the text and underline them. What do they mean? – Đọc bài báo sau về chùa Hương. Nhìn vào các từ  bảng rồi tìm những từ đó trong đoạn văn và gạch chân. Chúng có nghĩa là gì?

• vast (a): rộng, to lớn
• pilgrim (n): người hành hương – đi đến 1 vùng đất linh thiêng vì lý do tôn giáo.

• backdrop (n): tấm màn lớn
• reign (n): triều đại

=> It is in Huong Son Commune, My Due District, Ha Noi.

=> It includes Den Trinh (Presentation Shrine), Thien Tru (Heaven Kitchen) Pagoda, and the Perfume Temple.

3. Where is the centre of this complex located?

=> It is located in Huong Tich Cavern.

4. What is special about the beauty of the Perfume Pagoda?

=> Its beauty has been used as a theme of many famous songs and a topic of lyric poetry.

5. Who visits the Perfume Pagoda during its religious festival?

=> Pilgrims from all over Viet Nam do.

3. Work in pairs. Below are some of the things that have caused damage to the man-made wonders of Viet Nam. Put them in order of seriousness. Give your reasons. A: It is reported that many of Vietnamese man-made wonders have been damaged. What should we do to protect and preserve them?

B: I suggest limiting the number of tourists who visit man-made wonders.

A: That’s sounds great. I’d like to suggest raising money for the cost of tour and use it for restore and preserve them.

B: How about give the rules for preserve them?

We suggested that local government should limit the number of tourists visiting man-made wonders and give more rules to protect them. And then we can raise money for the cost of tour and use it for restore and preserve them.
